Sick of It!!!

Assalamualaikum w.b.t and hi guys!!! :D

Wah, lama x update blog! ><

Seriously, i have to update, just to express my opinion and what I sincerely feel towards what is currently happening in my life as a university student. To me, friends are the 2nd most important people after, of course, my most beloved families.

For those who know me, I befriend with anyone I want to as sincerely as my heart can be without having any bad intuition, such as to spread 'something', to misuse them for inappropriate 'project' or to force them to support me in everything that I do. Because, I believe that, if any thing comes in between me and my friends, if we really value our friendship, we won't even dare to have bad thoughts about our friendship even though we may have different perspective in seeing things and we will automatically supporting each other for every single thing (without using any force, power or position). I really miss those moments, before this 'thing' appears, when we laugh together, go through hardship together, play together without being suspicious towards each other. Unfortunately, those moments are disappearing, day by day just because of this 'thing' and believe me, it hurts so much. :'(

When I see and hear my friends are quarrelling about something, for what they say to untruth the truth (btw, they do really know the TRUTH at such a young age, with a few experience of life and a little knowledge of what they are fighting for?) and they put aside their friendship to win the unnecessary battle, I feel really sad and angry at the same time. You may said that if you join this problematic 'thing', you can enhance you critical thinking, soft skills, confident level, bla bla bla... Ok, I'm fine with that, BUT, remember, it is NOT THE ONLY WAY to achieve all that!!! There are still MANY MANY BETTER WAYS such as by joining your college/university activities or projects!!!

Yes, I may be quite childish at most of the time, but I do love to think and analyse the current situation, as mature as I could be. (Remember, you can never say that you think maturely because only people around you can say that to you if they think that you are thinking maturely. Never claim yourself such thing.) When you are showing and supporting any 'side', believe me, whether that 'side' is doing good or bad things, you will or has to, for sure, take it as good stuffs, and you will try your best to make sure that your 'side' looks good all the time. And, that's WRONG!!! WHY?! Before this, you are saying that by getting involve in this thing, it can help you to think critically, but in reality, IT'S NOT!!! And if it is, it is done in a wrong way. Why did I say that? Please open your eyes, when is the time when you need to think critically for this 'thing'? WHEN YOU HAVE TO FIND WAYS TO MAKE THE OTHER 'SIDE' LOOKS BAD!!! Am I right?!

I am sick of this actually. I love to make friends with everyone who wanna be friends with me if possible but I hate those who wanna be friends with hidden agenda(s). If I participate in any project or activity, there are only two reasons; I want to have the experience and I do so just for that project/activity, not including, any of the side agenda(s).

I think that's all for me now. Thanks for spending your time to read my blog. It's an honour. :)

Actuarial Science (AS): What is that?!

Assalamualaikum w.b.t & selamat sejahtera guys! (and girls) :D

Alhamdulillah, we have gone through Ramadan; a month full of blessings for more than a week now... How's your puasa so far? You have not skipped any days so far right? If you do, hmmmm, I hope because of heath problem, and not because of you can't stand looking at foods ok! Hahaha... XD

Ok, in this entry, I'm gonna share with you all about AS (I will use AS as short form.for Actuarial Science from now on. Penatlah nak taip panjang2. XP)

"Apa tu?"
"Apa yang actual sangat pasal sains?"
"Susah kan course ni? Lagi susah dari medik orang kata."
"Banyak gile Maths dalam course ni."
"Huiissshhhh, ramai pelajar drop tau course ni. Ko x takut ke?"

   These are a few common comments that I've heard so far as an AS student. That's why when people ask me what course am I reading now in university, most probably I would say "Maths" instead of AS because if I say AS, then I'm gonna need to spend a few minutes to tell them about AS. But, the most irritating feedback (seriously, all people that I've met will say this) if I say that I'm a Math student is;

"Nak jadi cikgu ke?"

OMG!!! That is people's perception towards Maths students. I can't blame them for thinking that way since most of Maths students will end up either as Lecturers or Teachers, but that was before! Maths students nowadays are being employed in financial sector as well! So people, please change your mindset ok! >_<

In a summary, I would like say that AS is a combination of knowledge of Statistics (not Maths ok), Finance and Economics to assess risks and uncertainties. So, don't think that AS is all about Maths, which is totally wrong! You will learn Economics and Finance as well. Most of top universities in UK and Australian universities put AS under their respective business school!  Since it's dealing with uncertainties and risks, most of AS graduates are found in either insurance or investment sector. Not forgetting the banking sector as well.

The professionals in AS field are called Actuaries (singular: Actuary), not Actuarists, Actuarians, but Actuaries. It is a professional course, just like Accountancy, Engineering where AS also have it's own professional bodies such as:

UK         - Institute of Actuaries
Australia - Institute of Actuaries Australia
US         - Society of Actuaries (less familiar with)
              - Casualty of Actuaries (less familiar with)

When you take the professional papers, you will be branching out into either one of these four streams:

1. Life insurance
2. General insurance
3. Superannuation
4. Investment

So, just like Accountancy, a degree in AS doesn't mean when you have graduated, you are automatically an Actuary. You must pass all professional papers 1st before you can be entitled as Actuary. On average, people will qualify as Actuary after 8-10 years of work-and-study life (including 3-4 years of degree studies) And, based on statistics, the world's passing rate for these prof.papers are less than 40%! Woahhoooo! Take it easy guys. At least, it shows that you can PASS the papers but of course it's not gonna be easy eh! ;)
*being optimistic*

I have not yet taken any of the papers, but my seniors did and none of them pass it in 1st trial. Most will pass after they have felt the failure 1st (I said most, not all). Since i don't have the experience of sitting for the prof.papers (yet), so, I won't go into details about it. Regarding my studies, so far, Alhamdulillah, I am doing well and InsyaAllah will keep this momentum till the end. Ganbatte! ^_^

This course is as hard as other course. I won't say it it neither easier nor harder compare to other courses. Seriously, it's up to you. Just like what I have said before, if you enjoy your studies, success will chase after you and I do enjoy my studies and life as a university student. I am not trying to comfort you if you are considering to read AS after this, but that's a reality. Yes, in my university, Chinese students dominate this course, but I take it as as a challenge. Out of 30++ students, only 5 are Malays. Maybe this course is not yet popular among the Malay student due to the perceptions mentioned above. Frankly speaking, I love to fight them in terms of academic performance because they are really good at it, and in most cases, got better result than me. But, *kimcana (a korean word which means 'It's alright'), I believe that I can succeed in this field. I believe in myself. :)

Now, my university is applying for Institute of Actuaries' accreditation. If let say we got the accreditation (InsyaAllah), we will get exemptions for some of the professional papers, hopefully for all Core Technical (CT) papers because that's what mostly undergraduate degree in AS will get. (for more info about Institute of Actuaries, you can go to this website: http://www.actuaries.org.uk/). Please spend some time to read it ok. (",)
Then, we only need to concentrate on our studies without thinking of sitting and passing the prof.papers while studying. Fuuuuhhh, if that happens, I'll be the most happiest AS stundent in the world! Hahaha :D

I guess that all what I gonna share with y'all for this entry. Keep supporting my blog ok!

Please Don't Be Lazy

Assalamualaikum w.b.t and hi everyone!!! :D

First of all, I am truly sorry for not sharing anything with you all for the  past few weeks. I have been busy with my final exams, training as Pembantu Mahasiswa and some personal problems. I didn't even have time to check on my Facebook since my training usually ended around 12 am and honestly speaking, that has exceeded my bed time. Hahaha....
But, put sad aside because I'm back!!!

   Alhamdulillah, even though my GPA and CGPA have dropped this sem, I am still in the Dean List and InsyaAllah, I'll try to not only maintain my result but also will try my best to improve it in the next sem. Caiyok2! Many people have asked me about my success recipe, but, I don't really have one! Seriously! I just did what a student must do, study. In my 2nd sem, I have been quite lazy; didn't do the tutorials, look down on the subjects, wanna have fun always... There was a moment where I cried due to my laziness and how it has impacted on my studies. I got not-so high-marks for the tests, assignments which carried, almost 40% for the final grade! I can see a really big gap between my 1st sem and 2nd sem laziness. Maybe because I was too comfortable with my 1st sem result. When looking back at my attitudes in the 1st sem, I believe that, to succeed in your studies, PLEASE DO THE TUTORIALS!!! What has shocked me was that in one of the subject's final paper, the questions were tutorials questions!!! Plus, I have this principle since my time at PASUM that "Please trust and do you tutorials more than the past-year". The reasons are;

1. Lecturers change in time. So, the way he/she sets the questions might be different. Plus, the syllabus might have been changed too.
2. Past-year papers do not have answers, unlike tutorials which have definite answers!!! It'll be very wasteful in terms of your time and effort if you concentrate on them alone!!! (This might be not true if you have a group discussion with your friends since you guys can discuss among yourselves. But, note that, there's also a probability that all of you might be wrong. Only the lecturers know the answers.)

Keyword: DO YOUR TUTORIALS AND ASSIGNMENTS

Next, if you do not know how to solve certain questions, HENTAM JELAH!!! DO NOT LEAVE IT BLANK!!! At least, it shows that you have put effort to solve it. Who knows, you may get markah kesian, better than none right??? ;)
But, there's a way to hentam too. Since I am a math student, if the questions ask about "Prove this, prove that, Show that, Show this, or any proving related question", if you can't prove it, do it until where you can't prove further. Then, starting from below (answer), try to go up till where your work is. Yes, what usually happened is that in the middle of the proving, it's not gonna look as what the proving should is (it looks like you have skipped a few steps), but still, you managed to solve the questions!!! Hahahaha... Give it a try eh!!! O_O

Keyword: HENTAM KALAU TAK TAU

I think that's all about studies. If I do have any other studies tips, I'll share with you guys ok!

Just another remainder, in my previous entry, please do what you will regret if you don't do. Some people want to just concentrate on their studies alone, then, just let them be!!! If they want to join any projects/events/activities, just let them join!!! If that can make them happy, why do you want to disturb them, asking them to do something that they don't like. Be respectful to others in the same way you wanna be respected. It is kinda funny when people are pushing, forcing you to do things (directly or indirectly) that THEY WANT BUT YOU DON'T WANT but you, foolishly follow them. Stand straight with your principles. Yes, you can persuade them but DON'T FORCE them. People don't like to be pushed to do things that they don't like ok!!! Remember this!!!

Hmmmm, that's all I think for this time. Thank you so much for spending your time to read my blog. I'm truly appreciate it. ^_^

Assalamualaikum wb.t & See you again!

Do Something That You Will Regret If You Don't

Assalamualaikum w.b.t

Hi everyone!!! Got lots of stories to share with you guys this time... Hope all of you enjoy reading it!!! ^^

This week, I would say, the most richest week with opportunities!!! Why? I have been chosen and have accepted the offer to become the emcee for Math Annual Dinner 2012, held at Restoran Nelayan, Titiwangsa on 04/05/2012!!! And guess what, it was my 1st time!!! Hahaha... :D
To be frank, it has been one of my dreams to become an emcee for big events... But, I just didn't have the courage to accept that challenge, but I did for this time.... :)
Through this experience, I have learnt a lot... A LOT!!! It taught me on how to speak clearly, how to handle things when things are out of schedule (this happened a lot during the dinner), how to make people listen to you and how to be flexible in doing your work... After going through all these, I believe that I will feel regret if I reject the offer in the 1st place because somewhere deep in my heart said that I can do this, excellently since I love to watch how the emcees handle the situations in any events... Plus, when people started to said that my voice is similar to one of the top host of Malaysia Hari Ini (MHI), Fedtri Yahya, it kinda boost my confidence level... Seriously, I enjoy emceeing events and hopefully after this I can be given a chance to handle bigger events, university level maybe... Credit must be given to my partner who is a very experienced, professional emcee for all the guidance and encouragement given... The knowledge is very very useful for me to become a better emcee in the future.. InsyaAllah... >_<

Moreover, my decision to get involve in the preparation of Math Annual Dinner 2012 was so right... I've got to know most of my seniors more than before... All my negative perceptions about them vanished while I was working with them... They are super friendly, super crazy and talented people... It is an honour to get to know them... So, after this, when I meet them, there'll be no more avoiding-and-looking-down, pretending I don't see their presence... I can even have a nice chat with them!!! Isn't that exciting??? :D

So, morale of the story of the day; DO what your heart wanna do. DO what you will regret if you don't. Believe me, if your practice this lesson if your life, you can have a better/clearer mind (no need to feel sad for not doing it), better understanding (what you do, you understand. Experience is the best Guru) and better sleep of coz since no more regret to be think of!!! Hahaha... Right??? (",)

I think, that's all for now. InsyaAllah, I willl share more in the next entry k!!! ^_^

WHAT A DAY! :O

Assalamualaikum w.b.t

Hi, this is my very 1st post for my blog. I hope you will have such a nice time reading about it coz I did enjoy writing about it! ^^

This week has been the most tiring, exhausting and busy week for me. Starting from Monday where I have to settle my 'future stuffs' plus SERU 1st peer coaching meeeting, TITAS presentation on Tuesday, Calculus test on Thursday and many more till Saturday. I've got so many things to be done in a very short period of time. But, to me, frankly speaking, Saturday (today) is THE BEST DAY EVER for this week where we, who have planned to go to MidValley for PC Fair, PWTC for International Book Fair and Capsquare to watch The Avengers, but unfortunate and fortunately, got stuck in the middle of the unbeneficial demonstration! It was a really eye opening and enriching experience for us! I will tell you why.

After going all the hardships to get out the demonstration area, we found that there are more and lots of negatives than positive about demonstration. To be honest, we can't even think of any good thing about demonstration! It was conducted on weekends! That is wrong coz we know that weekends are the time where usually families, friend,; for any races, do things together like shopping, touring and spend time together. It can be said that weekends are meant for public, not for particular, unmatured group of people who got nothing other than giving bad reputations for their own country! We saw a mother with three of her children who were in trouble to get back home since the main stations of LRT; i.e the Masjid Jamek, Bandaraya were closed for security reason. And because of this, they need to travel far, to get to the available LRT station. Yes, you may said that
"What was she thinking? Supposedly, she knew that on that particular day, there will be a super troublesome demonstration, but why did she still bring her children to go for shopping?!"
Well, we believe that the Mom has promised her children to go for shopping on that day, in a very long time, way before the announcement of the demonstration. And we should ask ourselves; Do we like it when our parents break their promises? Do we like it (think yourselves as kids ok) when our busy-with-works-parents did not fulfill their promises? I'll let you think about that. Remember, every Mom in this world would like to give the best for her children. :)

Moreover, I would like to share my life principles with you guys:

1. Usaha. Pastu, Berserah Diri dan Tawakal kepada Allah. Dan ingatlah, Allah sebaik-baik perancang dan Maha Mengetahui.
-Those who participated in the demonstration did not apply this simple and easy principle. Why? Yes, they have USAHA to tell the government about their things; i.e through letters, meetings, and ect (demonstration is excluded ok since it is a very wrong type of USAHA ) but, do they TAWAKAL after that? I doubt that because there is no national-level of solat hajat to soften our government's heart to listen to us and correct the mistakes they did at all (correct me if I'm wrong)!!! Yup, they can organize national-level of demonstration, but why can't they make national-level of solat hajat???

- Think like this. You have done your best in your exams. What will you do after that? Will you make demonstration for your Lecturers ( the one who have taught and share their knowledge with you ) to ask for A for you papers? We are really sure that you will pray hard to ALLAH and hope for the best result right? So, why can't we apply this principle in our lives?  People tend to forget. That's why they chose demonstration instead of solat hajat perdana which do not cause any problem to the public at all!!
I let you think about this too. >_<

2. Using shortcut to achieve what we want, A TOTALLY WRONG IDEA!
-Why can't we excel in our studies, work hard, get the highest possible position in a particular company? As a boss, you can shape the company as you wish!!! HOHO.... Yes, it will take such a long time to get there but it is not impossible right? But, if we have shortcut, why don't we use it? It will lessen the time needed to become the boss right?
Let's look on the 3rd priciple.

3. Jangan buat benda yang kite tak suke kat orang lain!
-Do you like people to be rough with you, scolding you all the time, dislike you, use shortcut to get what they want? Of coz not right! So, why do we do the things that we don't like to the others?! Why can't we be friends with them? We always listen to our friends right after our family? So, don't you think the government would listen to you if you are close to them? Think this a business strategy and you will know why.

I have learnt a lot from this demonstration; about my proven true perceptions about it and all pros and cons which has shaped me into a better person. I will always stick to my principles and will never get easily influence by others who can't see you doing well with your principles. Control your live, not others.
 Peace!
